My students in Rouen have now had five (quite long) classes on the BBC. I have posted elsewhere on this blog the MP3 recordings and other elements, but here, all in one place, you can find the five weeks of podcasts and the five weeks of PowerPoints.
Week one
Podcasts
1b What questions need to be
asked about the history of the BBC
Slides 1a
Slides 1b
Week two
You will find here a recording of a BBC
class in which I deal with the BBC and cultural history, and the BBC and
the history of representations, before going on to speak of the commissions of
enquiry which punctuated the life of the organization from 1922 to 1995.
The slides here cover both the Commissions of enquiry and the Director generals
[All my BBC students need to watch these
videos which I made on the BBC director generals:
Director generals 1922-1960

week three
In the third week I looked at the BBC
from 1922 to 1945
Here is the recording (almost
two and a half hours).
And here are the slides which
accompanied the talk
Week four
In week four I looked at 1945 to
somewhere around the middle of the 1960s.
You will find the recording here (two
and a half hours long)
And here are the slides for week four and
five
