M2 seminar, the 1970s
I assume I have now received all the assignments I am going to receive.
If your work should fail to pass, either you will be lucky enough to balance that out with a high mark in another subject, or you will be asked, for the retake session, to rework your assignment based on my comments. If you are in this case, please contact me quickly after the first session jury is over and the marks are announced.

The last pages of Cook's journal, covering the days before he died, went missing. We are not sure why but this very good article from the BBC history magazine explains the circumstances surrounding this mystery.

This article show some of what we now know (but Cook did not) of Aboriginal fishing technology [I do not have any specific knowledge about the situation in Tasmania at Cook's time].

Captain James Cook agrégation anglais 2020 option civilisation post 54: Georg Forster and his book
The question of the money that could be made by writing and publishing an account of Cook's expeditions, and the image of Cook that might be put forward in such publications has been the subject of considerable scholarly work. This brief account of Georg Forster's book, published when he arrived back from accompanying Cook on the second expedition is very useful
